Insurance and license compliance

Know which subcontractor certificates are good, and which are not.

ComplySub reads each certificate of insurance, compares it with your requirements, flags the gaps, and reminds vendors and their agents before anything expires. Subcontractors keep one compliance packet and share it with every general contractor.

Free for up to 5 vendors. Free for subcontractors. Licenses checked for CO, CA, TX, and FL.

How it works

From sign-up to your first list of gaps in an afternoon.

  1. Set your requirements

Enter the limits, endorsements, certificate holder, and license rules you require, once for each type of vendor or project.

  2. Send the upload link

Every vendor gets a personal link. They add their certificate from a phone or computer, with no account to create. Their insurance agent can upload for them.

  3. See gaps and get reminders

ComplySub reads the certificate, lists what falls short of your requirements, and reminds the vendor and their agent 30 days, 14 days, and on the day a policy expires.

Built for both sides of the contract

The same checks serve the people who ask for insurance and the people who have to provide it.

General contractors and property managers

See every vendor against your requirements

  • One requirement per trade or property, checked on every certificate
  • Limits, additional insured, waiver of subrogation, and primary and non-contributory wording
  • Expired and expiring certificates and licenses, in one list
  • Reminders go to the vendor and their agent, so you stop chasing

Subcontractors

One packet for every general contractor

  • Keep your certificate, license, and documents in one place
  • See how you measure up against each contractor's requirements before they ask
  • Share one link instead of emailing PDFs to every office
  • Get a reminder, and tell your agent, before a policy lapses

Gaps, spelled out

Each finding names the vendor, the requirement, and what the certificate actually shows, so the next step is obvious. Among the things it flags:

  • Limits below your requirement
  • Additional insured, waiver of subrogation, or primary and non-contributory wording missing
  • Certificate holder name or address that does not match
  • Expired or soon-to-expire certificates and licenses
  • A document that could not be read

Works in your AI assistant

ComplySub has an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, and other assistants can answer questions about your vendors in chat.

  • Ask in plain language

Which vendors are out of compliance? What expires in the next 30 days? What is missing for Ridgeline Electric?

  • Use the assistant you already have

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Cursor, VS Code, or any MCP client. You sign in with your ComplySub account.

  • Your records only

An assistant sees your organization's vendors and documents and nothing else. Included with Pro, Business, and Subs Pro.

Frequently asked questions

What does ComplySub check?

It reads an ACORD 25 certificate of insurance and compares it with the requirements you set: general liability, auto, umbrella, and workers' compensation limits, additional insured, waiver of subrogation, primary and non-contributory wording, the certificate holder, and expiration dates. It also records contractor license status and flags licenses that are inactive, expired, or about to expire.

How do vendors upload their certificate?

You send each vendor a personal upload link. They open it, add the certificate from their phone or computer, and are done. They do not need an account, and their insurance agent can upload on their behalf.

Is ComplySub legal or insurance advice?

No. ComplySub reads documents and compares them with the requirements you set, and it can make mistakes. The original certificate stays attached to every result so you can check it, and your contract, attorney, and insurance broker decide what is actually required and whether coverage is adequate.

Which states are covered for contractor licenses?

License status is available for Colorado, California, Texas, and Florida. For any other state, or a trade a state does not license, you can enter the license number and expiration by hand and get the same expiry tracking and reminders.

How does ComplySub read a certificate?

An AI model (Google Gemini on Vertex AI) extracts the fields from the uploaded document, and ComplySub then runs fixed checks against your requirements. If a document cannot be read, it is flagged as a finding instead of passing silently.

What reminders does ComplySub send?

On paid plans, ComplySub emails the vendor and, when you have its address, the vendor's insurance agent 30 days, 14 days, and on the day a certificate expires. You see the open gaps and a weekly digest in your dashboard and inbox.

How long are documents kept?

Documents and the fields read from them are kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion. We do not sell data and do not train models on customer documents.

Does it work with Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants?

Yes. ComplySub runs an MCP server at https://complysub.agntwrk.com/mcp that Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP clients can connect to, so you can ask about vendors, gaps, and expirations in chat. It is included with Pro, Business, and Subs Pro.

What does ComplySub cost?

General contractors and property managers start free with up to 5 vendors, then $49 a month for Pro (up to 50 vendors) or $149 a month for Business (up to 250 vendors). Subcontractors get a free packet with one certificate, or Subs Pro for $12 a month with every document and license monitoring.

How do I cancel?

Open the billing page in your dashboard, which opens the Stripe customer portal, and cancel there at any time. To delete your account and its data, write to hello@agntwrk.com.
